Team Maxxis 4x4 Wins Championship and 2nd Place at Rainforest Challenge

Team Maxxis 4x4 has again taken both the victory and second place in a major race. Attracting drivers from around the world, the 19th annual Rainforest Challenge was held November 28 – December 7 in Malaysia.

The event posed a daunting challenge for even the most seasoned teams, with 22 stages at sites throughout the state of Negeri Sembilan. Three Team Maxxis vehicles competed, overcoming deep mud pools, river crossings, highly technical sections and near-vertical ascents and descents. Drivers were also required to cross high mountain ridges without crew support.

As the contest neared the final stage, two Team Maxxis vehicles were locked in a tight contest with the defending champions from Russia, who at one point assumed the lead. By the finish line, Maxxis vehicle 119, driven by Chang Chiew Shen and co-driver Lo Fui Min, had racked up 2,358 points. Car 139, piloted by Lee Beng Loon and his brother Lee Beng Khoon, grabbed second place with 2,169 points. The third Maxxis vehicle also did well, taking fifth place out of the 35 vehicles competing. All three Maxxis vehicles were outfitted with rugged M8060 Trepador Bias tires.

Maxxis congratulates Team Maxxis 4x4 on their latest championship and outstanding performance, and looks forward to cheering them on to victory in 2016.
